The Indian cricket team will soon have a new sponsor. The BCCI has raised the base price for sponsorship, making it higher than what Dream11, the last sponsor, used to pay. The new price is ₹3.5 crore for bilateral matches and ₹1.5 crore for ICC and ACC tournaments, slightly more than the earlier rates of ₹3.17 crore and ₹1.12 crore.
Why the difference? In bilateral games, the sponsor’s logo is on the front of the jersey, giving more visibility. In ICC events, logos are placed on sleeves, so the exposure is less.
The new sponsor deal will run for three years, covering around 130 matches, including two big events—the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup. With the new pricing, BCCI could earn over ₹400 crore.
The bidding will take place on September 16, after the Asia Cup has already begun. So, the team won’t have a sponsor for that tournament.
Not everyone can bid though. Brands linked to betting, crypto, gaming, tobacco, banks, insurance, or even sportswear cannot apply due to restrictions and conflicts with BCCI’s existing partners. Dream11 left because of a new Indian law that bans real-money online gaming companies
